Meet Chris Secker our new sales rep with a ‘lot of runs on the board’.

How much hands-on experience do you need to make the grade as a sales representative?

In the case of sales consultant, Chris Secker who has been a member of our sales department for eight months, you could say not much in sales, but a good personality and a wealth of practical experience that enables him to understand the needs of clients has stood him in good stead.

That element of practical experience has been more than enough.

Chris was formerly a stone mason for 12 years and has also done a bit of carpentry.

That practical work has given him a great understanding of where many of our clients are coming from.

The key point, he says is that his aim is to be useful to his clients – steer them in the direction of the most suitable truck for their business activities – not any truck just to make a sale.

It’s that sort of philosophy that we at Major Motors ;like and want in our sales team.

 

So how does a guy who has been in a very different field find the new experience?

 

‘I’m loving it. This is a great company to be part of – I’ve had a lot of help and I’ve had the joy of putting some clients into trucks I’m very confident will be ideal for them,’ he said.

And when not helping people with the right truck what keeps Chris occupied?

Would you believe he runs ultra marathons?

Chris has been running for well over 20 years - five years in long distance, and says it not only keeps him fit, but he enjoys the scenery on the way.

‘When the weather is nice, it’s a great way to keep occupied,’ he says.
