Introducing a small trucking business that’s big on service and character
One of the great aspects of being a Truck Dealer, is that you meet wonderful characters and the one we’d like to introduce in this edition is Glenn Spencer of Warradale Transport.
Warradale Transport, based in Three Springs/Eneabba recently took possession of a 2008 FRR600, a 6 tonner Isuzu that only had 195,000kms on the clock.
With that low mileage Glenn was more than prepared to take on a second- hand truck with full service history, that will do what he needs it for.
‘I’ve known the guys at Major Motors for some time and I know they’d never sell a dud,’ he said. The Team at Major Motors went above and beyond for a fair deal and worked together with us to have all the fitments like bars and tanks sorted and the extras we needed fitted like lights and UHF done in time for handover.
It’s not the biggest truck Glenn has had in his long career at the wheel; Having previously worked in Mining and Agriculture, plus in earlier days driven road trains for other businesses.
Having also previously owned and operated various Rigid & Trailer combinations but, as he says, the FRR is in excellent condition and it will do the job that he’s asking of it.
Warradale Transport, owned by Glenn and his wife Leanne, who Glenn describes as the best admin support and life partner a bloke could ever find, handles freight ranging from wool bales to farming gear such as fencing equipment, feed lot minerals, machinery etc plus he carries items for Mining, Power and infrastructure projects, – you name it.
Originally, they had much bigger trucks to handle far larger loads of wool bales – but local farming systems are changing so the need for a smaller all-rounder is what now fills the bill.
Warradale Transport has somewhat of an interesting history apart from having been in operation for nearly 30years, with many years prior involvement in the agriculture businesses and industry they now pride themselves on supporting.
Its name derives from Leanne having come from her original family farm business , Alandale, while Glenn hails from the family faming property, Warradarge Springs.
So, combining the names together, you have Warradale.
There’s one other interesting characterisation of Warradale Transport….there’s always a dog in the cab with Glenn.
Ironically the state number plate with the prefix of “1DOG” has now been transferred onto each of the new trucks as they came along.
The couple have two dogs currently: a 4year old Red Heeler/Corgi cross named Lolli and a 7 year old Border Collie/ Labrador/ Kelpie etc cross named George.
The “Original Truck Dogs” being Rat and Bodee, both Tenterfield Terriers and Mr Willson the Corgi.
These particularly friendly dogs that live for their trucking trips add that little bit more to the friendliness of a very happy go lucky but professional small trucking business.
Stereotyped it’s not – this is a highly regarded little business that plays an important role in its community that they are proud to be involved with.
